Christmas is nearly here...surely not! - November 2009

Christmas 09Yes it's unavoidable Christmas is only six weeks away. This year as well as offering our usual bespoke christmas card design and print service we would like to introduce you to our virtual greetings cards. Not only is this a really cost effective option, but you can also pride yourselves on going green!
How will this work?
We are offering two simple services. The first offers you a choice of stock cards with a personalised message and company logo placed on the inside. This can either be a standard message or we can incorporate your own signature and handwriting. You might also want to include Sponsor logos. See sample

The second offers you a totally bespoke card design with a personalised message and company logo placed on the inside. This can either be a standard message or we can incorporate your own signature and handwriting, of course you can also include Sponsor logos. See sample

Once you've selected a card option and approved your proof we will send you a link (greetingsfromyourname.co.uk) which you can then send to your clients, nice and simple.

If you are interested in any of the above services, please contact us for a individual quote.

Spinawina Quiz - October 2009

Spinawina QuizWhen we started working on this project in 2006 we had no idea that it would be ongoing for the next three years. Working closely with the client on a one to one basis we have been able to developed their ideas into a graphically pleasing product. The brief included the box design, question cards, tokens and the game board. These have taken on many forms over the years and the slightly retro final look should give this game good shelf presence and attract the attention of any potential buyer.

The spinner provides a novel and exciting way of playing the game and replaces the use of dice. There are 14 question categories including Music, Films, Science & Nature, History, True or False, Sport and TV. A Kids section is also included so they can join in as well. Two unique categories, Guys and Dolls, have also been included to add some fun and banter between the sexes. This means all the family have a chance to answer questions from their favourite category.

We would like to give credit to Douglas Neil the inventor behind Spinawina and look forward to what the future may bring. Spinawina is a brilliant new general knowledge quiz game for all the family and we recommend it to you. It can be found on www.amazon.co.uk and a number of other retailers. Maclays Children's Menu - August 2009

Maclays Children's MenuMaclay Group has a number of hotels and inns across Scotland all of whom welcome children in their restaurants. The content of the menu is common to each of the outlets and the company asked us to put together a fun menu design which would appeal to and entertain small diners.

A concept based on a space theme was devised and suitably out of this world names were given to each dish. The illustrations used in the menu provided the material for colouring in sheets to keep the children gainfully occupied whilst they await their meal.

Illicit Still - January 2009

Illicit Still - CD ArtworkWhen we tell someone we're involved in graphic design, one of the first questions little boys of all ages usually ask is - "What album covers have we designed?" So here's one for all you "Peter Pans of Rock"! Self proclaimed "Monsterz of Rock", Illicit Still needed some bangin graphics to echo their powerhouse tributes to bands from the heavy metal genre. Striking graphics hint at the bands versatile repertoire. A mix of distressed and gothic typography helps to give the overall look a dramatic edginess.

Worship as your ears bleed at the feet of Greatness........ as you checkout their myspace pages www.myspace.com/illicitstill1

Summer Harvest - November 2008

Summer harvest - PackagingWe were asked to design a packaging solution for a brand new product 'Extra Virgin Cold Pressed Rapeseed Oil'. We opted to design a wrap around label and swing tag ensuring that the packaging reflected the natural feel of the product. This needed to sit equally well at a farmers market as well as a high class delicatessen.

Presenting the gold colour of the oil against a natural slate background highlights the purity aspect. The use of natural gardeners string to tie the swing tag helps too keep this product looking natural, high class and therefore full-filling this brief.

Work is still ongoing, with the constant need to market and promote at exhibitions, such as the BBC Good Food Show. Point of sale material and development work is continuing on new products due to be launched over the next year.

Look out for more on our website in the coming year. You could also checkout www.summerharvestoils.co.uk

ICSB Edinburgh 2010 - August 2008

ICSB Edinburgh 2010 - LogoWe were delighted to be asked to design the Corporate Identity for the Scottish Bioinformatics Forum world Conference in 2010. This identity will now be used to promote the event all over the world, starting in Sweden during the 2008 Conference there.

It was a challenge coming up with an identity that combined the feel of being modern as well as scientific and our client was delighted with the result.

Lumia - May 2008

Lumia Spa - BrochureWe were asked to come up with a simple but elegant identity for a new concept in health and beauty situated in Bridge of Allan. “Lumia” is therefore a brand that portrays not only quality but elegance too.

By using a paper with texture for the brochure Cover and carrying this onto the Stationery and Gift Vouchers, the feel of “Lumia” is maintained. To finish the gift Vouchers will be placed in a Pearl translucent envelope for presentation.

Garden Tribe Packaging - February 2008

Garden Tribe - PackagingWe are very proud to have designed the new packaging for ‘Garden Tribe’ to be launched at ‘Spring Fair’ in Birmingham this month. Taking on the idea from ‘Garden Tribe’ that Gardeners today are looking for something a bit different, something that combines traditional practicality and value with a sense of style. Garden Tribe’s collection has been designed by, gardeners for gardeners, not only do they look fantastic, but they really do a practical job in the garden. The striking, co-ordinated colour schemes make an eye-catching retail display, whether in garden centres, gift shops or on the high street. We have therefore kept the design of the packaging simple as the goods speak for themselves.

We are looking forward to our continued work with Garden Tribe, producing retail and trade catalogues, also undertaking ongoing advertising as we assist in raising their profile. Watch this space!

Auld Reekie - November 2007

Auld Reekie - Whisky Bottle and Tube DesignWe were delighted to re-brand "Auld Reekie" for Duncan Taylor, recently. It was felt that a mixture of the modern, but traditional feel would make this brand stand out. To achieve this look we employed the use of silver foil and matt varnish, which gives a fresh and modern look without loosing the traditional elements.

We're also looking forward to completing a number of other projects for Duncan Taylor in the near future, we'll keep you posted.
